I like the way you ended this piece... As much as we all would like our heart picked back up for us, or for it to be put back together by the person who shattered it, sadly and ultimately it is a duty that falls to us.  The betrayal rings soundly here.

As well the skepticism leading toward the end resolve.  Those scars only make one stronger.
