Poultry Thoughts
Another doomsday scenario right off the bat
The expectation of some bitter end
The syndrome being "anticipatory dread"
Pointless thoughts of imminent disaster
Could be a mudslide running late
Or the arrival of the walking dead
Maybe something a bit more personal:
The fraying of family ties
Or continuance of health issues
The trick, generally speaking,
Is not to magnify them,
Not allow a passing concern the strength of a nightmare
Just stay cool, bro,
The sky's not falling
Just be ready when the earthquake strikes.

Thanks Crim. It will sooner or later. It varies from day-to-day, sometimes hour-to-hour. It really is a matter of taking things a step at a time, and not blowing problems out of proportion. And I try to keep a sense of humor. That's critical!

Love it and agree.
Why worry about shit that is totally out of our hands. Interested, fine. But its not our big picture.
Dont neglect whats real.
Just stay cool bro

brilliant title.. the chicken little comes to mind & then Aerosmith "Livin' on the edge".. corresponding nicely
w/ your 'sky falling' line at end..
"The trick, generally speaking,
Is not to magnify them,
Not allow a passing concern the strength of a nightmare"
~yes & sweet hellz yes! this is perfect as I truly believe to even grant
these things merit by thought, voice or action- is to give them power.
keep those assurances flowing by pen, & relax- drowning in tunes. is my trick.
lovely pen tonight, Sir Crow..

I've often wondered how much time would be taken off the normal lifespan of a person who constantly worries over such things...if they were to live to die of natural causes. Stress and worry s are never worth the price they exact on mind and body. As you said, preparing yourself if you are so inclined is really the best you can do.

This is quite deep. It reminds me of something Timothy Leary had said about "surfing the waves of chaos" where one does not look too far ahead or behind them and stays in the moment and maneuver as it happens.
"The trick, generally speaking,
Is not to magnify them,
Not allow a passing concern the strength of a nightmare "
But this is the real gem of wisdom here. Do not give one idea more weight than another. Insightful and excellent!
