Sudden Rhapsody
I drew lines around me and you crossed each one.
Then like a sparrow you fell.
So I scooped you off the streets and
into my danger zone called a heart.
Our relationship held shadows at first.
Each of us closeting your tender stripes of pain.
Then one morning you sang to me in a clear, honest voice.
And all by defenses bottomed out.
I've acquired a taste for you darling.
A songbird that collasped upon my lap, my life.
Our cherished sex is unnameable and fulfilled each night.
Though I may be on top, baby I love you from the bottom
of my renewed heart.
