My Birthday Suit
is paper thin and rather soft,
with words written on my heart
and all over my face.
My Birthday Suit
is fashionable, zany, serious, smart, casual, and deep
with threads suited to every need
and of every colour and creed.
My Birthday Suit
is woven from dreams and ideas
with constructive criticism alterations
and quite a few likes and loves.
My Birthday Suit
is as long as years
with endless scrolls of scrolling
and made by many artisans and amateurs.
My Birthday Suit
is all thanks to you, and you, and you
with thanks also to the Webmistress and the Mods
and thanks from me,

Thought it would be nice to sort of hear it from DU's point of view, it is the birthday child after all. Thanks, looks like I'll need it with the high class pieces entered.

Oh, I am but only a part of the suit. A sort of cream suit covered in words worn by a Deep figure, their face hidden in shadow but their heart open to see.

The last rhyme of "you" and "DU" is lovely. The free verse, listing ("fashionable, zany, serious ...") nature of this poem reminds me a little of Walt Whitman. Thank you for the read!

Would you believe I did not intend that last rhyme, and was trying to go away from rhyming in this, my true style shines through in the end though! Can't say I am familiar with Whitman's style, or many poets style for that matter.

It is a suit that morphs and changes with each addition by each tailor yet with a will and mind of its own. A sure suit to show all the assets if there ever was one!

I didn't know you had DUP to thank for your birthday suit but there you go. Interesting poem nonetheless.
