Being where They are
screaming Valkyries over icy plains
carrying souls of soldiers fallen
in battles without a clear line
on the well trodden snow
a glimpse of this in my waking dreams
and I wake with tears in my eyes
was it in a time when I lived
there perhaps in a cycle of life
in another place another time
through gauzy walls hands reaching in
I want to be where they are
or were, a time parallel
baying of hounds in green forests
was I there am I will I be
am I looking through a window
but I live within and through
there a battle fought
blood on white snow
screams break the cold air
standing there watching
I once was
here, there and everywhere.
