Contemplating Butterflies

From
This Angle...

Everything she felt
seemed larger than life.

As her thoughts
drew blood...
clouding her mind with
crimson memories...
Of Him

Nothing escaping her vision now
seeing butterflies swoop in & out
of her peripheral
She wondered why Love...
had to be so complicated

One particularly jagged memory
of him
Forced tears to well up in her eyes

Remembering a tender moment... spent
far from home... in his arms, at a time
when He was gentle and kind

As her tears fell she wondered...
If He was aware of her pain...
Or was He oblivious to her spirit

Now...That she had gone.
Amazing how the heart can remember
what it Wants to...
Instead of what it NEEDS to at times...

She watched the butterflies continue to play
Dancing in & out of the Sunlight...
How she longed to feel the sun on her back
Just like the Butterflies...

How she longed to be seen
as the Fragile...Amazing Beauty ...
She was...

and Knowing that
the man she Gave ALL her Love to
would Never see her as more than
an opportunity missed...
She sighed...
stirred her coffee
and continued to nurse...
