Yeah...

Let me tell you a story, this one for real
About how a girl trusted a second cousin to protect her and not to steal

She was too old for fostercare and had to get out
Never did she think she'd a enter an environment where people scream and shout

The second cousin convinced her to give up her prepaid phone
For a piece of a family plan that was like a golden painted bone

They agreed on a payment of two hundred dollars rent
And over time the second cousin asked for more, the agreement became bent

The second cousin turned off the internet on the phone
And rage in the girls eyes began to be shown

The girl avoided the chaos as much as she could
She bit her tongue and ran away like a good girl should

She ignored the yelling between the cousin and her ex husband
She really wanted to burst from her room and make a stand

But instead she laid in her bed, her pillows covering her head
Clear tears from her already swollen eyes bled

She played on her computer, turning up the music so loud it hurt
She bit her lip so that words out of her mouth wouldn't blurt

Headaches filled her life and she couldn't escape the chaos in her blood
Everything in her life was like a huge, old, muddy flood

The cousin didn't care so full of her own life, her own problems, she never saw, never could
Not that she really tried all that a family member should...

The girl tried so hard to make things work
But her mind was going completely berserk

So when a teacher from school offered to let her move in
She almost jumped on the chance but couldn't think of a way to tell the second cousin

The teacher fed her, clothed her and took her to appointments and other places
The teacher's face was the only center out of the sea of faces

The teacher hated seeing how the girl suffered quietly in her mind
The second cousin no longer even bothered being kind

The girl's graduation rolled around the girl texted the second cousin "Will you be there?"
She never replied... to the text so the girl knew then she didn't care

The girls name was called FOUR times at graduation
The Highest GPA; The girls name was called,

The most scholarships; The girls name was called,
For Valedictorian; the girls name was called

She looked in the crowd... She never saw her second cousins face
So she focused on her biological mothers face, how her blonde hair flowed like breeze carrying lace

When handed the rose to give to the person who helped her most through high school
She didn't give it to either of her mothers, she gave it to a girl from school she thought was real cool

Then she smiled and she waved, never letting on how hurt she was at her cousin never showing up
Afterwards Her sister made it even worse, but she just sipped from the restaurants cup

Her best friend now knew what her family was like...
He knew why she told most of them to take a hike

When the girl got home the secod cousin was home with her son
The girl told the cousin about the awards and scholarships she had won

The cousin didn't even miss a key (she was on her computer)
The girl ground her teeth trying her best to not lift her hand and hit her

She messaged the teacher to come get her that very next day
The second cousin went to school like usual, the two had nothing to say...

The girl looked in the fridge to see what she could steal to eat
And when she saw the mostly eaten graduation cake she felt true defeat

She shoved, pressed and packed things into boxes like a mad woman
The teacher came repeatedly before the ex husband showed up and did things only a two faced man can

He helped with a smile and carried boxes out as fast as she packed
Soon everything she owned was packed tightly and nicely sacked

She went to lunch with her old social worker and had a tiny bit of fun
She ate her McDonalds dollar menu burger in the sun

When she was done and they dropped her off at her house
She grabbed everything she can and left with the teacher to her new storage (the size of a mouse)

While she was gone the second cousin showed up and who knows what her ex told her, He's quite the con
Anyway the next thing the girl knew... the rest of her stuff was on the lawn

Then she got a text from the cousin demanding $400 to get her cell phone of her name
The girl was in tears, she didn't have that kind of money, she couldn't afford this kind of game

The teacher touched her arm and said to her "You can pay me back later"
So they went to the cellphone store and paid the bill through the phone there, They waved good bye to the store clerks saying "Later Gators"

They went to the house to get the very last of her stuff
Now the second cousin has taken it as her role to tell everyone about the girl in a huff...
