The Brother Who Failed

A brother that I’m supposed to be
Is one that I have failed to be
I have failed as a brother
For every time she is hurt
I can do nothing but watch it unfold

Though her darkest hours
I am powerless to aid her
Through the darkness and the pain
I am a worthless brother

With her issues with her man
As well as her struggles of the spirits
There is nothing I am able to do
I wonder why at times
Why she is such a great sister to me
And I’m such a horrible brother to her

I am the brother who failed
To protect her sister every time
Maybe death should come for me
Because she doesn’t need me
And she’s all I’m living for
