she dares to fly
she is not the sun. her passion burns her with a violence
that the heavens could not endure.
her eyes are true, like the horned owl’s, but vacant of stars;
she sees me as a man of flesh, a soldier who has suffered
& made poetry of it, who will suffer again when she goes.
she is not a sorceress, not a witch who can spell away a
drifter’s fears & regrets; but she is the forbiddance that
holds back the tears.
I have said she is fallen, but not from the caste of errant
angels who descend to this earthly garden, lured by amphora
wines & alehouse songs; who paint themselves in the
cosmetics & the shame of the harlot. she was born in a
different heaven.
she holds the lullabies of children in her hands; she bears the
scars of men who have loved her for a season. or a night.
she has given herself to me without pretense of garment, not
the slightest veil, & by that revelation, I know what beauty is.
and I have seen no other art.
her dreams are voyages that will carry her to exotic lands, they
are tales untold, great novels of adventure & romance. she will
write them in her heart…
I will never say farewell
you’ll come back to me one day

I think many women can relate to this. Excellently penned, JFeddeler. Respect, Devlin.

There is that 'one' for everyone. This hit me hard. A beckoning of love, of respect. It's pure , beautiful and nostalgically sad.

You've done it again, John. I am at your mercy, on my knees...master of poetry. And yeah, maybe that's a little melodramatic, but fuck it. You're fucking incredible.

"Shez not the sun...no starry eyez too,
True, shez frm a different heaven..
And..i have seen no other art!"
mesmerizing uniqueness she is..yes,no true heart wud part
loved this read..more than usual sensuality u pack in, this has a deep basal string of some unsaid darkness sadness. Sorta heavyhearted feel, inspite of a daring flying her. Delicate share JF, tq:)

"I will never say farewell

and cloaked in your blue, bearing wings that were sewn on in her dreams. - tattered, and hungering for your heart's storm of poetry. Begging for you to embrace her song just a little longer.
It's mine to treasure! ❤️

Passionately written John.
I can say you are one of the rare souls blessed with lover's eyes.
Though every conclusion of your works, I can sense a touch of ache, longing, emptiness yet to be satisfied. You always leave us wanting more.
REPEATEDLY.

I am so glad I stumbled upon you, your work is outstanding, tears welling up, not because I take it personally but because you write so beautifuly that it makes me want to cry, like listening to a rare tune with no words to warrant you sobbing and yet something about it is so magical that you just let it out. It is and absolute pleasure and honour to read you eloquent poetry.

Your words flow beautifully as always, John, and I echo Zazzle's commentary especially on stanza four with "the caste of errant angels." Tremendous imagery !
