Message of the Gods

- Message of the Gods -

Think thou that this world is civilized?
Its’ veneer of civility masks a savagery.
I am wiser than many mortals realized!
For, I have never sacrificed my dignity.
My kind walks amongst you in shadow,
Even whilst thou sees us in plain view!
Hast thou not seen within me the glow?
The radiance of a deity man once knew.
Once mankind offered me up sacrifice,
Called me a god, a goddess, a fair light.
Then came the great deception of lies…
But even that couldst not fell my might.
I asked not for blood and not for tears…
Only love, a love oft sadly unrequited!
Where hath love been across the years?
In innocent hearts, by magic delighted.
I am here now to teach, so attend well,
One message of many, yet ever proud!
Cycles turn, as Heaven begets of Hell…
Until, my words are heard, cried aloud.

Which is the face of reality that is true?
Mortals think in one way or in another.
I see all ways, and the paths that twist…
For, mine eyes look beyond skies blue,
Beyond male, female, sister, or brother.
Past the circles that spin, past all this…
The mechanisms of fate and of divinity!
These hands touched them before time,
Setting into motion patterns of destiny.
Just as I craft the pattern of this rhyme!
Wheels turn, cycles spin beyond sight,
And the stars pierce the black of night.

Think thou that this flesh is my whole?
It is but the first layer one may perceive.
Flesh is but the means to play my role!
And from my path, I cannot ever leave.
My kind walks amongst you unseen…
Even whilst thou sees us in plain view!
Some, art nobly pure; some unclean…
For they lost the ways they once knew.
Once mankind offered us up devotion,
Called us gods and goddesses sublime.
Where now is that so zealous emotion?
Cycles hath turned, and passed a line…
Beyond which soon all shall turn more.
Thou shall yet see us revealed, mortals!
Forget thy petty prejudice and red war.
Soon shall open the myriads of portals,
And what was shall be again, as meant.
Mine eyes hath beheld time’s scheme…
And to my words, divine fire is so lent.
Look beyond, a far black sun’s gleam!

Humanity hath forgotten the old ways!
Mortals think in one way or in another.
I know all ways, and of journey’s end,
For, I beheld, the most ancient of days!
Beyond male, female, sister, or brother.
Along myriad paths that circle, bend…
As the first altars grow cold, untended!
These hands tended them before time,
Setting down the rites not ever bended.
Just as I set down words to this rhyme!
Rites return, as old ways become new,
Like when dawn brings the virgin dew.
