A Gentle Giant

          


I was standing  in a car park
full of birthday wishes
when all of a sudden
a tailgate lifted
there you were all happy and bright white
a pure handsome , canine shining knight .


You were a best friend to me
a shepherd, husky cross , big  teeth
with a gentle soul who loved his treats
a fish at heart in the rivers and streams .


You assisted me to the porch
and everywhere that I did walk
my friendly bear , my guard on call
for me you were there , when I was alone .



I'll see you around
in the next world
