Soul Sister

We entrusted sorrows
holding each other
with smiles etched

on our hearts, through
miracles and tears
storms and laughter

celebrating life
large and small
til a cute boy

walked in the class
and all eyes were
diverted, but ours

we shared lunch
sitting side by side
different backgrounds

merging memories
with the same dreams
differences aside

cheered together
on the sidelines
to exhaustion

in the merry go
round of playground
with sheer innocence

holding each other
with change of times
growing up and apart

raising our own families
remembering fondly
the sisterhood

the love, boundless
thicker than blood
my friend, my sister

survivors together
in this life.
