I'm still in mourning and I'm going through daily rituals but I feel the despair with each wave of grief

I used to cry every time I was alone after my brother died..and while the pain is still as intense, the physical manifestations ebb.  I was, however, never able to say goodbye like I should have.  I regret that often.  Sorry you lost your mother!! Hugs and luvs.

I was angry at my mom for most of the time I knew her. But towards the end of her life she was more kind. And it was at her funeral that I discovered a side of her I never knew hearing peoples stories of how they knew her. It changed me. Although I miss her, I don't mourn her death. I have never been to her grave since the funeral. I have no reason to. But I see her alive in other things. And so there is comfort in that.

Yes!  I learned so much about my brother at his funeral!!  I understand this, Chow.  I don't go to my brother's grave often, either.  But, I was once there at twilight last winter and a deer came out and I felt a peace that I never have before or since in those moments.  

I'm sorry you didn't have a better relationship with her ...

I keep writing these poems, so I can remember her and her goodness.  And it really does help to honor her with my words.
