Image for the poem Of Ghosts and Roses

Of Ghosts and Roses

rings of silver on wisps
of dreams and wishes
dying on a day when blossoms
they bleed into the ground

the sky so blue
reflecting unto the lake
where green hyacinth thrived
and water lilies grew lush

upon the lovely day
where red roses smile
ghosts wandered like gossamer
veils on a perfect landscape

for that day they chose
to collect his bride
to accompany them to eternity
...the water was deep

he thought of her still
through the years
he would always see her
red billowing engagement gown

through his tears.
