Another Christmas Day

To be birthed in this place
of dried leaves and dusty winds,
cold breeze in the last ember month was a roll of nature's die.

I grew watching how Christmas was celebrated in different parts of the world... a white Christmas,
children with sleigh-bells and snowballs.

I knew also about the mistletoe
and the ever romantic, magical
kiss under it... Could I ever get to know the feeling? Fate, tell me.

Church I go every year to commemorate the Prince of Peace
a message of love, joy, hope, peace
to the world. It never gets old.

Years have gone by since I last celebrated it with my grannies;
a time with them I crave but can't now, grandma left grandpa alone.

No merry making, just little food and soft drinks. I ain't got time to go for a booze... got a lot to lose.
I love my life but... can't I do better?

No Santa Claus has come to visit,
guess I'm naughty from birth... Never seen snow fall in my world
a white Christmas more like a telltale.

Guess I'll just eat, drink,  read, write
and watch a couple of TV Shows
and smile the day away.
Another Christmas Day it is.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
