I Remember When

I thought you were interesting
Thought your poetry was so deep and sensual
Thought you had as much mind between your ears
As bush between your legs
When you knew I thought it was the sexiest damned  thing
Warm and womanly like your momma-toos
From the baby that stretched your tummy
Leaving behind your tiger stripes
But lke all the rest of the plastic personality
That used to look so cool on you
The darkness you put on for show
Has taken your talent to the toilet
And flushed your art away
Into a gutter of dirt and disparaging remarks
About the man who loved you and would have given everything
To be a part of your color-filled world of creativity
Until you turned it into shades of gray and Smokey haze
I remember when
I thought you were beautiful
Ahh, but I was just a fool
