Subliminally

 If I could choose to cosmetically
change some things
on the outside of me
I would be somewhat, technically
and observationally
a different being
for all to see

If I could choose to theoretically
change my needs
on the inside of me
I would be somewhat, miraculously
always offering
whatever you need

If I could choose to wear your shoes for a day
of course, fashionably
and rationally
I would be in debt to the fantasy
that in all actuality
what we call reality
is just a deformity
from the inside out
