Image for the poem Summer Rain

Summer Rain

Come walk with me
In the warm summer rain
Country boy take my hand
Be led into my fantasy

Bed me down in wildflowers
Wet petals licking our skin
Dancing in time with our bodies
Lost in ethereal ecstasy

Me, your playful wood nymph
You, my mighty red oak
Salty drops fall from your glistening skin
That I ingest with ferocity

Torrents beat down harder
As do our racing hearts
One lone deafening thunder clap
Exclamates our eternal electricity
