Our dying world
Our world is dull and grey.
But I'm not colour blind as some may say.
I can see the colours you do,
The grass is green and the sky is blue.
but our world dying, its plain to see,
The grass dies brown and the sky falls red upon the sea.
The grass will wilt as its life runs out.
The sky turns dark as the sun gives out.
The grass fades yellow to brown as its long life slips away,
And the sun has gone its warmth no more, our light now from stars Far away.
They've been here so long, their leave is due.
I wish they would stay, do you?
The grass is soft upon my tired feet,
Under the warm sun, my wife I'll meet.
I feel sorrow for the world you'll see,
If you find me watching the last sun set upon the sea.
