Behind The Screen

I look around the corners
Under my bed
Through my curtains

Behind the scenes
Something is going on
I can feel the mystery surrounding me

Enshrouding me
Causing me to wonder
Who is pulling the strings

Magic in the air
Confounding me
Paranoia

I don't know�maybe
I write what I see
What I believe

Like in the Wizard Of Oz
I want to see
Behind that screen

See into the infinite
The veil on my eyes
Removed for all eternity

Understand life's mystery
Why we have to die
To reach enlightenment

Understand all things
Be in the know
Instead of left questioning

This is a marvellous poem. The ending is perfect. In fact the entire structure is admirably controlled. Like a master jockey riding his mare from start to finish without stumbling. I love the fifth tercet, especially those first three words "I don't maybe". That sums up my own indecisiveness and confusion at life. The only recommendation I'd make is that you remove all the full stops. This would make the poem look prettier I think. All those periods, when no commas or semi colons are present, make it seem a tad untidy. Just my opinion.
