Unlovely Unveilings

stolen kisses in pale moonlight
drunken lips and gnawing teeth
ripping open a slumbering heart
that would one day awaken to bleed

eagerly returned embraces
electricity between those two
whiskey laced sins and lies
a deed they couldn't undo

inviting legs parted temptingly
to offer a foreign new flavor
a foolish tongue flicked against
and pulled the deadly trigger

a sober sunrise saw it all
yet they were not ashamed
they played different roles
but both were to blame
