Where do I belong
Nowhere to go or disguise
Scorched earth all around
A freeway from pain
Heading for a better chance

Yes, exactly :-). There's a proverb: 'On the other side the grass is always greener'. Therefore people are often discontent. But what a joy to leave bad things behind and come back to find, as you stated so very well, green pastures waiting for you.
