Hold on to Your Dreams
Hold on to your dreams
Hug them close to the heart
For like a flame they splutter
And threaten to die
Sometimes, sad and downhearted
You may lose the ability to reverie
forgetting those you hoarded before
within your hopes wrapped with faith
You may suffer much in your life
living like birds with broken wings
or struggling fish that lost their fins
but hold on to your dreams, for they soar
in despair, you may let go
of all your dreams and wait for death
calmly walking down the road
towards those who wait beyond
but what’s the use of living
when all you do is merely exist
what’s the use of breathing
when you don’t smell the roses
So don’t let your dream go
for life will be an empty field
where nothing grow but thorns
a blanket of uselessness.
