First stare curiously at their stump.
When you notice being noticed,smile uncomfortably,and look away.
Then spend the next few seconds wondering how it happened,until another freakshow comes your way.

That's weird. Makes me think that a blind person may have gotten a better deal, because they can't see others' stares. Imagine that.
