The One True Path
- The One True Path –
“When I look into the future, I see countless roads, long,
One for every possibility, every human right or wrong…
Paths for the living and even paths meant for those dead!
Each of us will choose one path to take that leads ahead:
Only one for each of us that is golden, perfect, and ideal;
To find yours is to walk the One True Path and truly feel.”
One evening, I chanced to enter a spiritual trance.
Whilst in that state, my soul with time did dance…
And I drifted back to when another cycle of time,
Did exist where ours does now, clear and sublime.
I was in other flesh than this, but familiar nonetheless!
And so whilst reliving what was, I felt no distress.
I was walking in the deserts of another world entire,
The heat of which was no less intense than my desire.
I did hear the sound of the wind, blowing most wild,
And in the midst of it was a voice speaking a while.
The voice said unto me these words loud and clear,
Which I shall in all truth, attempt to relate right here:
“The sands are not hotter than man’s desire for change!
And so mark what I say now, even if it seem strange…
Grant mankind a purpose for the change that is nigh,
For soon it shall come beneath this alien-seeming sky.
Set mankind upon the One True Path, and behold…
Only the few can walk it as you have, as foretold.”
And this had I set out to do, to lead by example…
My heart being the vessel, and my body the temple,
For something grander than anything I had known.
I had to become more than my former flesh and bone!
This had I set out to do, this had I in this way done,
As I walked in the alien deserts beneath the hot sun…
“Some slumber as they walk, never knowing the totality,
Of their own heart, mind, soul, and spirit, unto eternity.
But comes the time appointed, the sleeper must awaken!
So, the seeker aught prepare to be soundly shaken,
For awakenings are rarely moments that pass quietly!
I know, for on the One True Path, this happened to me.”
Until at length I came unto an oasis of cool waters,
A placid liquid in which only a faint ripple ever stirs.
They were not yet touched by the heat of the day,
And by the sands there, even gray mice did not play.
For abandoned by the living was this place secret…
A place guarded, by divine powers that ever protect.
Yet again I heard the wind and the voice it carried,
Whilst by that tiny paradise I so waited and tarried.
“The waters of this oasis are not at all cool enough,
To quench the heat of this ancient desert so rough…
For what is enough for man alone to thus consider:
Is not always enough for God to be able to confer.”
I came to see a most holy and sublime truth at last,
In those sacred words which seemed to echo vast.
Man is not soon finished upon the Path, ever until,
God deems that they have walked it or do so still…
Unto the moment when that journey is completed.
Those who finish the journey cannot be defeated!
For rewards beyond measure await them sweetly,
Fair rewards: for those who embrace their destiny.
I said unto the wind, understanding dawning bright,
My inner vision expanding with such glorious sight:
“Who are you, to know these things so profound?
And who am I, to hear you at this sacred ground!”
Thusly did the wind speak: within me and without,
As if to calm any idle fear or any residual doubt…
“Truly, I am you of the past and of the future also.
That is how these things were given me to bestow!
Walk the One True Path, and one day now distant,
You will look into the mirror and as was so meant:
My face, your face, our face, will be shown to you.
In this way all my words will be fulfilled most true!
The messenger and the message must be the same,
And when you go seeking, true wisdom to gain…
Be prepared, to find yourself waiting to be seen.
New sight grants new seeing, and as a new sheen,
Covers a blade forged again stronger than of old…
What you do learn here will make you newly bold.
And stronger than ever, in spirit and in ways other,
For, you were ever the child as well as the mother.”
And so the lesson of my tale is this, as I give to all:
The truest revelations, which raise us even if we fall,
Are often those that we reveal unto ourselves first!
By their power, even in a desert none might thirst.
In knowing ourselves we can know the Divine too,
And that knowing holds power not one can undo.
My gift to you, my children, is this simple sharing…
For your mother is of a heart boundlessly caring!
“When I look into the future, I see countless roads, long,
One for every possibility, every human right or wrong…
Paths for the living and even paths meant for those dead!
Each of us will choose one path to take that leads ahead:
Only one for each of us that is golden, perfect, and ideal;
