When the magic goes away

Tales from the ancient past.
Of things that may never pass.
Tales of epic magic.
The results so tragic.
When the magic goes away.

Warlock’s summoning demons.
No regard for their actions.
Witches cursing.
The consequences of which have no reversing.
When the magic goes away.

Invulnerable heroes.
Reduced to zeros.
Magic swords.
No longer giving rewards.
When the magic goes away.

Army’s now fighting.
And even biting.
No longer protected.
The art of warfare now needs to be perfected.
When the magic goes away.

Castles in the sky falling.
There is no forestalling.
A world without magic.
A world so tragic.
When the magic goes away.

But there will be some form of magic.
And in the end it may not be so tragic.
The magic of a child’s smile.
The walk down the aisle.
When the magic goes away.

A lover’s look.
A good book.
A baby’s birth.
An appreciation of our full worth.
When the magic goes away.
