Horseman, of the Apocalypse
I bring the bubonic, chronic illness when I will this
feel the icy chill in this as I fill this world diseased
scurvy, these swervy miscretins keep unerving thee
Back-breaking wills of mere mortals as I please
fatal, I rain, on earth's plain kissing disdain
ebbing it of all life I drain...
I am Pestilence, no remorse on a course
I'm spreading ill will upon the brain
even a semblance of joy,
no, not ever never... not on my reign
mankind, break down on bended knee ,
HEAR ME!
hear n' feel the wrath of malevolence...
I care not for pity, you weak minded blinded fools
breaking the laws of life with your misaligned tools
that 'mental mentality' mentally deranged range of thought
has bought the darkness through, now kiss the sweetness silent...
your life's about to crash to an uneviable end
of graphic proportions yet you just can't predict when...
I am the second coming,
divorcing mankind's primordial essence from this land
I AM ECLIPTIC, CRYPTIC, to be specific, I AM The Horseman, Pestilence...
feel the icy chill in this as I fill this world diseased
scurvy, these swervy miscretins keep unerving thee
Back-breaking wills of mere mortals as I please
fatal, I rain, on earth's plain kissing disdain
ebbing it of all life I drain...
I am Pestilence, no remorse on a course

Now this is a write that has many a thought roaming around! Last week I had a quite heated conversation with friends on the subject of this poem; the week prior I watched a History Channel show.

well when you have one friend who is a Jehova Witness, the other Catholic, and the last one a Muslim, it makes for stimulating conversation! That doesn't include two others who both have doctorates in religious studies.

no they have to leave the brass knuckles at the door! Since it is too cold to stay outside long, they don't even throw water balloons at each other. (No snow yet)

Compliments on your internal rhyme. You can hear the torrent of the apocalypse within the reign of rhymes and range of rhythm. :). Good job.

Re: Horseman, of the Apocalypse
excellent piece of writing, the use of imagery is very impressive,i have one question do you believe the apocalypse is real? we were always taught that it was a metaphor not to be taken literally
of course you know the concept of the rapture is complete bogus invented by john darby in 1830
and many christians believe the idea of God delivering people to hell for not having required level of faith as very insulting
hope i didn't offend anyone that was not the intention
paul

Hey thanks Paul, I appreciate your thoughts n comment... I do believe in a greater power, I'm NOT too strong on the belief that the end times will happen by his act, it seems more likely given mankind's propensity for their own destruction, we'll do ourselves in! lol..., again thanks I will visit ur page soon :)?
