Begging Beaivi

Summer Fay bid bye bedding down
dragonfly's sleep
under faerie, tail, wing
curling deep to hidden slumber
slipping adrift gossamers dreams

Winter sprites open eyes slowly
to beats of Druidic murmurings
slow steady rhythms that leave
Oak, Elm and Ash bide, bare brown
descent degrees, floated falling snowflake

Batter butter for Beiwe upon the post
ring round ribbons, roasting white tailed meat
bring back Mother Sun, sanity, safety for everyone
these screams we soon do lay, at Her feet on darkest day
as nighttime rides silver sky we huddle warmth of hearth

Frozen, we people are humbled
set upon sleigh, slick to sliding
held at point by daggers of ice
while teeth borne of winds, gnash at our skin.
Snow drifts build as faerie chilled laugh, frosts everclear
