Cloud nine
Cotton-soft cloud nine.
Rose-colored glasses.
So deceptive …
Dreams and hopes
Shatter on
Merciless asphalt.

Sometimes
the creation of poems
lead to surprising
words
when ideas take shape and
want to be written down.

Yup they do shatter don't they?
The reality of your ink is relateable
To many, well done my sweet lady, I see you're
still churning out those pieces of deft brevity :)

Thank you, my dear
for your always welcome
and kind words.
Shall I tell you the
secret reason for
my brevity?
It's the minor possibility
to make mistakes :-).

Really love this piece, Chi!
Great images that paint the images, you craft so well. Had an image of a cloud slowly shattering...

Hard hitting truth.
The power of your words Ms. Chi are like thunder striking down from those rose colored clouded visions.
Love your pen!

I suppose it's ok to have your castles
in the air, now how to put the foundations
under them?

No need for foundations :-).
Just floatingfloatingfloating ...
And then the asphalt thing. That's the price.

Tryin' to keep one eye on the hopeful sky & the other on the immediate danger beneath...brain in the clouds & boots on the ground, that's a difficult task for us mere mortals. Trying to keep those dreams in check. Beautifully gritty piece. The higher we get, the further we fall...

Yes, yes, ButcherScraps,
that's the difficulty.
To combine and balance heaven and earth :-)
and watch out for stumbling blocks.
Thank you for your insightful and kind comment!

Wear glasses of an unrealistic colour and you could trip up. (Memories of childhood grazes on road and pavement surfaces come to my mind.)

Yes, we did that, too, and luckily without all the love and hurt thing :-(. Thanks, Solomon, for sharing your childhood memories and for you lovely comment :-).
