I'm so glad you mentioned that, and only a real friend would.  You see, true story, when I was 12 I was having severe nose bleeds and in an effort to help me, my mother took me to the doctor to see what he could do.  He saw that my nose was mal-formed and so he took acid and put it in with a dropper, but it just went down my windpipe and burned my tongue and I lost most of my ability to taste.  Then he took a hot iron, like you soldier with, and he put a flat nib on it and burned the entire inside of my nose so that I lost feeling and the majority of my ability to smell anything.  Of all the things in the world, the surgery as it was was unsuccessful and at the least thing my nose bleeds all over, and I can't even blow my nose without its bleeding for an hour.  I can hardly tell when I have a booger because of the feeling's being gone, so thanks for letting me know.  It was not all bad though, because I was left with the ability to smell human hormones of all things, and whenever a woman is ovulating or on her period I can smell it as clear as day.

I too suffer from hectic nosebleeds (even had one earlier on today) and my mom encouraged me to undergo that surgical procedure and I refused. Now I have a story to back myself up with so thank you for sharing that with me,Chris (:
