Dead Of Night

Behind the pumpkin head
little girl lost in the dead

Shadows upon the tomb
last visited in the womb

Leaves skip along the ground
wind howling an eerie sound

Little sister comes for the ride
under her mask her face will hide

Tonight they parade up and down
hidden under a toothless frown

Sharp strident voices sing
in the wind words cling

"Jack O' lantern all aglow
spill the blood let it flow

If the ink should run red
no need to chop off their head"

From the grave mother rises
wearing her earthly disguises

Tattered and torn is her dress
for witch she was laid to rest

She will walk in the dead of night
filling all the kids with deathly fright

Worm guts smudged into her hair
spiders hang from her lashed stare

Ground bones of treaters past
put in sweets they never last

Dead of night comes to an end
we always go home with an extra friend
