Suzie-Q and Bill

I stood in a doorway
watching
a distant valley sun
splashes
red and purple
secure
while wild ginger
combs
the hallowed ground
waves
My Black Eyed Susan
sings
in the gentle wind
sending
rippled pleasures
across
my burning skin
swathed
in shafts of light
bathe
cattail and sweet flag
softly
hush caressing, as a gentle hand
