I Did Not Blink

Monday, I blinked...
I stared opportunity
In the face
With a long
Intimidating look
But opportunity had
The coldest stare of all
So i blinked...

Tuesday, I blinked...
I tried to fight
The cold bitter winds
That blew from
My oddly warm heart
But the winds stung
Against my eyes
So I blinked...

Wednesday, I blinked...
I came across
The bright light
Of my sweet
But minuscule passion
But it's shine was too much
For me to handle
So I blinked...

Thursday, I blinked...
I tried to battle love
And I was winning
But love got stronger
And eventually took over
I got tired
And my fight was getting weaker
So I blinked...

Friday I blinked,
I left in search of purpose
But I didn't know
My purpose was invisible
It chose to hide
While I continued to look
My eyes got heavy and tired
So I blinked...

Saturday, I blinked...
I made an attempt
To watch my mind at work
So that maybe I could know
What I was thinking for once
But it's work was consistent
And unbearable to observe
So I blinked

But Sunday, I did not blink!
I stared opportunity
In the face once again
It's stare, still cold
But mine colder
So I did not blink!..
I walked the road
Towards my warm heart
The winds still stung
But I didn't give up
I made it to my heart
Where I eventually warmed up
So I did not blink!..
I came across my bright
Sweet passion once again
It still shined bright
But this time, I had a reflector
So I did not blink!..
I battled love again
But this time
I fought harder
Love fought hard
But didn't stand a chance
So I did not blink!..
I tried to find my purpose again
And while it stayed invisible,
It couldn't evade my grasp
This time I pursued and
Caught it
So I did not blink!..
I watched my mind
Work in it's secluded space
It's work still bleak
But I was able to bear it
So I did not blink!..
I fought it all
And I conquered it all
But this time,
Without blinking..
