Gone...Adrift

He's  unrattled
by the shadows
she kicks angrily
towards the moon...

n' swiftly sidesteps
the callous barrage of stars
falling on petrified branches...

as they shield  scabrous eyes
that no longer bleed hope for
greener tomorrows...

much like a pantomime
without sound,  he mimics joy
from memory...

embedded
into the fabric of
loneliness' breastplate...
