Young man walking down the street
His melanin made him guilty
Some say don't make it a black thing
Reality is right in your face
Racial profiling cannot be denied
Readjust your lenses , open up your eyes
Being on the dark side walking on a sidewalk
Got him killed by what the world calls the light
I won't fuel the hatred that the media is brewing

Thoughts of taking an asshole to the forest and tearing

So Zimmerman can't be let free
Serve him justice

Great and powerful write, Hottness. I caught a glimpse of cnn this morning and they wanted to sit up and speak to jurors about who was the aggressor and how some jurors were affected by the case. The faulty trial is done! Who cares about the jurors, a young man is DEAD! How stupid can they be?

Very well said hotness, I will never forget when the verdict came in I was at work and got mad cause he smiled when they found him not guilty I wonder if he smiled when he fired off the 6 bullets. I don't care if that boy was purple he was a child and his life was robbed away. My heart goes out to that poor family.

This was a clear case of the jury system not working. How they chose only 6 white women for the jury is the first question. The second is the problem of witnesses. The one girl who was sort of a witness - as she was the last one to talk to the young boy - was not seen as credible because of a jaw problem which caused her to lisp. Then they tried to charge the killer as manslaughter (state laws differ) when the charge of unintended homicide (or some lower charge) would have put him behind bars. The irony of this case is that while the boy was African American, the perp was not really "white" - looked dark, mediterranean, but NOT white.....
There is a difference between criminal law which found him innocent (shows how criminal law may not work) and now the NAACP is thinking of suing him on CIVIL law. Now a CIVIL case should find him guilty. The sad truth is that while the mother will never get her son back, the idiot who shot him will eventually be caught one way or another.....Karma has its ways. Good poem and many good comments above.
