"EMBEDDED"    (written as a challenge on the 1st aniversary of the War in Iraq)

 
so deeply embedded
here in our earths  
sixth  great extinction  
so deeply embedded
in a once powerful cultures  
great moral demise  
one satan embedded
against another  
under the mask
of some modified christ  
whose current reinterpretation  
seems to have somehow
forgotten  
about sweet mercy
compassion
and forgiveness  
and in our forgetting  
the love of ones neighbor  
as ones brother
and as ones self  
we have tainted and poisoned  
his holy wine  
corrupted his precious sacrifice  
embedded here now  
with the blood of so many  
where we have traded out  
our love for life
of truth and light  
for a love of self and power  
as we seem to be racing  
so increasingly madly  
towards  some terrible ending  
of this
our privileged time here  
so deeply embedded
in empirical lies  
inspiring loyal
deceptive blindness  
fueling holy zealots  
against patriots cries  
pitting just reason
against just reason  
where the true infidel  
exists on both sides  
between the chaos
of suffering and illusion  
spreading profoundly  
in the wake of each wound  
cut so deeply
by the great sword of plenty  
in its kind act
of forced liberation  
into a new order
of infectious slavery  
with this gift  so painfully given  
from the promised land  
that promises to keep on giving  
to the receiver  
yet which will only
keep them forever wanting  
needing and taking more  
as the greater
outside world looks on  
seeing only in our shameless gluttony  
the self righteous  mass arrogance  
of our insatiably addicted
global greed  
where innocence sells out  
to countless  heartless horrors  
which come with
power blinded justifications  
of every new war
we create and recreate    
inhumanity embedded      
so deeply
in humanity    
so much young blood  spilled      
on foreign sands
and soils
in the seemingly
never ending  endless quest
for the unholy grail      
of oil
of the earth
blood of the soil  
a godless exchange    
for the blood of lives
a deception of souls      
     through an      
unconscionable      
     treason of lies    
all in the rabid      
     never ending      
pursuit  for more      
     and more power    
so deeply embedded      
     in over saturation    
of civilizations      
     mass consumption    
overdosed on      
     too much anger      
violence  injustice      
     and pain  creates      
an imbalanced      
     nation   lost in      
perpetual confusion    
     programmed      
into apathy    
     acceptance      
resistance  or support    
     in the subtle      
manipulations    
     of governments      
secret agendas    
     through cultural      
exploitation    
     of unenlightened      
propagandas    
     to feed their      
publics hunger  with      
     the volatile fuel      
of fear  deepening      
     traditional belief    
in the historical      
     myth of each    
that only      
     through chaos      
and perpetual      
     destruction    
through absolute      
     dominance of power    
in suffering      
     death and war    
can either patriot      
     or religious zealot    
receive the false      
     honor and glory      
of their nation      
     or their god    
where it seems      
     religion itself    
in its corrupted      
     stance by both      
has numbed and      
     mortally wounded    
the ever waning      
     heartbeat      
the over depleted      
     life force    
of universal      
     compassion  as each      
hell bent  self righteous      
     opponent  keeps      
sending their young      
     in the prideful      
name of        
     country and god    
off to their      
     bloody slaughters    
through no fault      
     of their own    
along with all      
     the lost lives    
of so many countless    
     innocents gone    
used up      
     like cheap pawns    
in some      
     international ruse    
though only a visible      
     surface facade      
to mask and hide    
     to make more      
impermeable    
     the larger game      
and further gain    
     of the great      
unseen illuminati    
     where under      
the ruthless guise    
     of this so called      
noble plan    
     whose great lie      
and underlying    
     bottom line      
agenda  is only      
     to ultimately win    
as much as it      
     possibly can    
to benefit the      
     profit and gain      
of only the      
     wealthiest few    
and those who    
     serve them most    
to support      
     and increase    
their soul less      
     infinite greed    
just to win      
     their share    
of that fictitious      
     false security    
though they receive      
     much lesser      
amounts  its still      
     outrageously      
obscene  when      
     held up to      
the light of truth    
     of so much global      
suffering and need    
     in the lives      
of all the billions    
     who have nothing    
while those with      
     all the wealth      
and power  sit with      
     complacently      
folded hands      
     so clean      
in their assumed      
     immunity      
safe in their      
     privileged little      
palaces  and their      
     impenetrable      
golden towers    
     so blinded by      
their wealthy status    
     and their overly      
confident arrogance        
     they cant even      
begin to see    
     much less ever      
believe  that before      
     too long now    
each of them      
     shall also fall    
meanwhile all along      
     in their insulated      
power  they keep      
     royal score      
for hour after hour      
     of the missing      
in action      
     the prisoners      
of war    
     and the ever      
rising death counts    
     of other peoples      
children      
     as if it all were      
only some popular      
     spectator sport      
while chanting out    
     and passionately      
shouting  their      
     sacred mantras    
of vengeance      
     for allah    
shock and awe      
     for god    
with god and allah    
     supposedly      
so deeply embedded    
     in the soul      
of each nation    
     yet so abominably      
misrepresented    
     by all their      
spilled blood    
     its anguish forever      
resonating      
     is this to be      
our gift and legacy    
     for that safer      
freer world    
     which our      
unqualified  idiot    
     corrupt great leader    
so blasphemously      
     projected    
and touted out      
     loudly  to us all    
or is it only      
     our latest big hit    
as a once      
     model nation      
to the world    
     though no more        
is this the great      
     karmic debt      
that we really want      
     to leave behind    
for all the children      
     of this world    
and for any future      
     generations      
still yet to come    
     upon our struggling      
long suffering earth      
     that is to say      
if future generations    
     are ever  even      
yet to come      
     again  at all
