Screaming Skulls

screaming skulls surround her as she walks
black teardrops fall down from her crying eyes

she prays to be freed from her inner torment
for peace of mind, and for true love as a prize

alone as the sands of time slip through the hourglass
darkness is all around her, it seems the sun never shines

she lives her lonely life as if she's under an eclipse
the screaming skulls bring out her own moans and whines

will her prayers ever be answered or will her time expire
might she feel what it's like to be loved and cherished

will light ever enter the darkness in which she lives her life
to chase away the screaming skulls, or all alone will she perish
