Loud as a Dragon
- Loud as a Dragon -
Shall I roar as loud as a dragon, to shake all the earth?
Behold ye the wings of the great beasts as they soar…
And what magnificence, they bear, when given new birth!
Like proud lions, they are, in both peace and in war.
Sharp their claws, and strong their scales, as no other!
A queen must be as sharp and strong, to be truly great.
The dragons’ fire beats in the breast of the divine Mother,
But in mine as well, for in me is the fire no ice can sate.
Let the foes of my glory tremble, for my roar will echo,
Across field, fen, mountain, mist and all that lies before!
I bring the dragons; I bring the flame, to all here below,
Beneath the sun, the moon, the stars shining evermore.
Shall I be their mother, as I am mother to my children?
Then come, all ye winged ones, and cry along with me!
Let thy roar join with mine: together lion and dragon…
Shall set the world ablaze, from the rocks unto the sea.
What treasures shall we discover, that is our very right?
Not all such things are gold and silver, of mortals made.
Behold the moon, is she not a treasure in darkest night!
What once was is come again; the Mother is the Maid.
Dragon treasures are more than the wealth of mankind,
And are not my wings of light as fair as a dragon’s own?
Fly with me, my children, and be not ever left behind!
This day we show the world fury beyond flesh or bone.
As loud as a dragon my royal roar shall be thus heard,
For eternally it shall echo, carrying forth my very word!
Shall I roar as loud as a dragon, to shake all the earth?
Behold ye the wings of the great beasts as they soar…
And what magnificence, they bear, when given new birth!
Like proud lions, they are, in both peace and in war.
