DANCERS
You danced very well at the party
With a smile on your face
You danced with such apathy
At the party
And you aroused my empathy
For you look like me
In many ways.
I smile when tears
Are falling from my eyes
And you will never see me cry
That is why they think
All is well
In the party.
You look like me
In many ways
That is why you dance
The way you do
You must be from
My part of town
Else how could you smile
With tears in your eyes…
Please pause
The Chairman is making a broadcast
He is saying everything is alright.
Alas, everything is fine.
With a smile on your face
You danced with such apathy
At the party
And you aroused my empathy
For you look like me
In many ways.
I smile when tears
Are falling from my eyes
And you will never see me cry
That is why they think
All is well
In the party.
You look like me
In many ways
That is why you dance
The way you do
You must be from
My part of town
Else how could you smile
With tears in your eyes…
Please pause
The Chairman is making a broadcast
He is saying everything is alright.
Alas, everything is fine.
