Bloody Muslims...

"Butchery" the tabloids scream "Pics!" - queasy.
"Allah hu akbar"'s heard across the 'net.
The "Bloody Muslims" subtext's all too easy
But those WE raise - and then, somehow, forget?

Not something with which we, perhaps, engage.
A Workers' Youth League camp - and Breivik's sights
Saw sixty-nine of us give up old age.

A drop-out neuroscientist - James Holmes
White, non-terrorist - with no surprises.
Where's Batman when grenade and pistol roams?
As with twelve of us dead, a Dark Knight Rises.

I won't further this catalogue of bloodshed
For it's served a purpose, and I've made my call.
Let's turn the spots - and aim the light we should shed
On the human condition - warts and all.

We need to learn that monsters lie within us -
Blaming those that lie without won't fix the toll.
For we all of us have good and badness in us;
Let's find the trigger - lest more heads should roll...
