GRANDFATHER CLOCK

The clock strikes
not one
nor two
nor three
But when the minute hand meets the twelve it sounds that it is four.
Chime. Chime, chime, chime,
The hour hand is broken,
Stuck in place.
The minute hand moves freely,
At its own pace.
 the minute hits twelve
And every time
It is four once again
Chime chime chime chime.
The hour is stuck in time,
While the minute moves on.
She wishes to be fixed,
And freed from four.
She watches minute as he works his way through.
One two three
She begins to cry
Four five six
She feels she may die
Seven eight nine
She tries to move on
Ten eleven twelve
She's stuck again
Chime chime chime chime
Her wishes die
She is stuck.. in time.
