Image for the poem Take a Breathe

Take a Breathe

 Blackened thoughts
creative solutions
an outcome to a problem
darkness

breathe

eyes dart sharply to heightened rooftops
perhaps?
curly lines wrap knowingly around my neck
invincible

breathe

a racing mind joins to a moving vehicle
the rush, so close
rage trapped and leaving holes;
hurling objected madness
a voice unheard

breathe

the unsaid past
seeks a pill for a cheap thrill
swimming thoughts, soaking in a tub

breathe

a drunken haze
a questioning blade

breathe

a blackout moment
defying actions
red crimson blood trickles
subconscious tears
terrified screams
too close
a breathing silver lining

a way out

breathe

rise above
the one i love

stop.
