Cheer Up, Chuckles

Sitting on a bench staring up at stars,
listen to your music and the passing cars,
You've got style
like I've never seen.
I want to make you my queen.

But you don't smile,
You never grin.
And I try to make you laugh,
I try again and again.

But you don't smile,
You don't even smirk.
And I try to make you laugh,
but nothin' works.

You tell me I'm an arsehole,
and you've got a point.
But I work my arse off,
because I'm feeling so disjointed.

Just smile.

Flash those pearly whites,
I'll make it all worth while,
You don't need to fear.
Nothing bad can happen
if we're both lying here.
Nothing's gonna get you,
I'll dry up your tears,
and I'll never stop.
I promise that I'll never stop.

You look right through me half of the time,
and even when you don't you look ever so sublime.
You've got a song all of your own,
and that's more than I can say.
I wanna make you smile every day.

I'll do whatever it takes,
to put that smirk back on your face.
I'll do whatever I have to,
just to know that I mean something to you.

So smile.
Just show me that you're happy
and we can both rest a while.
Smile.
Just smile.
