Toxic Mind

I know who I was
But time has allowed change
I'm trying to relearn who I am
By writing out my humanity
Page after page
Sleeplessness keeps my mind clicking away
I can't put my body down
When my mind is so high
I am hovering just below the stars
And tucked in right above the clouds
If I reach out I will touch
The universe with my fingertips
 
The cosmos run through my veins
And stardust engulfs my being
I am magic and I am freedom
I am the embodiment of euphoria
Drugs are far far out of reach
I wouldn't want to corrupt the innocent adrenaline
Which my body has gifted to me
 
Lock your fridges when it comes time to feed
Aggressive love like this takes endless fueling
A love that never ceases and always takes
Risks that could conquer life's fragility
A love that never stops its screams

I am unstable and invincible
Trecking up the mountain
Without a harness
To see my lucid sky
From a new perspective
Hell is just one misstep
On the way to Heaven
But even Hell offers
New stars to view
 
And if a cloud covered sky
Greets my sleep deprived eyes
I will just tell myself that
The darker the night
The brighter I shine
Oh, how I am blessed
To have this toxic mind.
