POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I'm a story teller not a poet but maybe one day that will change to
Addicted like a piggy bank
Crept from around the corner, a dark alley behind
A bag clutched tight in one hand
Eyes twitch and skitter over the scene
No one’s about at this time of night...
No one but us... others just like us
All those twitching eyes
Surveying the same street as me
Shaking limbs clutching at their own bags
We’re all heading for the same place you know...
All have appointments to keep
Walking through this door again
Keep telling ourselves
This really will be the last time
But again I find this room is crowded with...
A bag clutched tight in one hand
Eyes twitch and skitter over the scene
No one’s about at this time of night...
No one but us... others just like us
All those twitching eyes
Surveying the same street as me
Shaking limbs clutching at their own bags
We’re all heading for the same place you know...
All have appointments to keep
Walking through this door again
Keep telling ourselves
This really will be the last time
But again I find this room is crowded with...

All the things I never thought I would know
I have learned that a heart is soft
But it can break down the hardest walls
I realized that words spoken with sweetness can still sting
But sometimes the sweetest things in life have no words at all
I have tried to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes
But all I got was blisters
And I still didn’t know very much about them
I found that you can go everywhere with a note book and pen
But the day you forget it is the one where something amazing happens
I lived in a time where grown-ups said you can do anything you want...
But it can break down the hardest walls
I realized that words spoken with sweetness can still sting
But sometimes the sweetest things in life have no words at all
I have tried to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes
But all I got was blisters
And I still didn’t know very much about them

Insanity dwells in poetry
I wanted to tell a story
Of how I came to be where I am today
But you see it wasn’t my story
I wanted to paint a master piece
And hang it in a gallery for everyone to see
But remembered someone already did that
I went out and wanted to run around the world
Just like I used to
No wait, that was someone else too
Thought I might be losing my mind
Or already had
They told me I wasn’t original enough for that
Picked up my pen today and wrote something amazing
But it just didn’t feel good enough to share
...

27 words for tears
I’ve heard of 27 words for tears
And 50 more for sand
At least a thousand or so for rain and snow
I probably know more than that
I wish I had a million words
For love
But all I can think of is the way your eyes look into mine
Your fingers against my skin
And the sound of your breathing when you’re asleep beside me
And there are no words for that
And 50 more for sand
At least a thousand or so for rain and snow
I probably know more than that
I wish I had a million words

Bleed out with a heart beat
Back to the roller coaster, up and down
My heart beat bleeding right before it hits the ground
Voices scream from on high just another second then they die...
But you see that’s a lie...
Off into silence and around the track
Back to the bend with that clickity clack
No one’s dead yet and sadly I’m smiling
Until I drop dead they’ll never know I was lying
I watch them up ahead as they laugh and they cheer
I can still hear my heart beat, its slow bleed out thrums in my ear
Another pump of my heart, another pint of my blood
My slow bleed out...
My heart beat bleeding right before it hits the ground
Voices scream from on high just another second then they die...
But you see that’s a lie...

What's the point of broken mirrors?
Broken mirrors and splintered glass
Feels like everything been just a bit half ass
Take those mirrors throw them down
Listen as they smash on the ground
Stand over my own reflection
Look down at that broken glass
Feel my head spinning with all of them grinning
They all want a piece out of me
Too many hands for the reaching
Too many years left to go
With all of them smiling and everyone chiding
I’ve got seven years lying under my feet
Well goody for them and hooray for me

Sour words and sweet memories
Kissed me on the playground
And again out in the street
Kissed me on her door step
And once more down on the beach
Another kiss at sunset
A secret one in the woods
A soft one in her bedroom before we went to sleep
She kissed me between her ropes and snares
She kissed me when I bled
She didn’t kiss me when I pleaded
Not even when I wept
I kissed her for her nightmares
I kissed her for her charm
Sadly she didn’t kiss me before I slipped from her arms
I still remember...

Butter knife surgery
Like hacking out your liver with a butter knife
Press deep, cut and slice
Lie back on the table; hold tight to your tool
Look up at the ceiling, aren’t we the fool
Bloods running slowly over the table now down to the floor
Feel the dull edge of cutlery held tight between finger and thumb
Eyes open and smiling... numb, numb, numb
When breathing feels like a hardship and existings just strife
But that’s how it goes right?
Some days that’s just your life
Hacking out your liver with a butter knife
Press deep, cut and slice
Lie back on the table; hold tight to your tool
Look up at the ceiling, aren’t we the fool
Bloods running slowly over the table now down to the floor
Feel the dull edge of cutlery held tight between finger and thumb
Eyes open and smiling... numb, numb, numb

Tea party with a side of innocents
Hello there, how do you do?
We’ve all been waiting for you
The tables set the guests are here
Smiling faces, unblinking eyes
Who’s that looking back from plastic chairs
All my dolls and teddy bears
Little saucers circle round
Checkered table cloth all smoothed down
Plastic cakes are passed around
Little hands holding porcelain cups
Clink go the glasses with giggles and laughs
So much fun to be had, but it never lasts
Away with the table
Away with the chairs
The smiling faces their unblinking eyes
No time for teddy bears, no time...
We’ve all been waiting for you
The tables set the guests are here
Smiling faces, unblinking eyes
Who’s that looking back from plastic chairs
All my dolls and teddy bears
Little saucers circle round
Checkered table cloth all smoothed down

No time for teddy bears, no time...

If you could stand inside me
What if you could stand inside me?
Would your hand move with mine?
Would you cry when I cried?
Would we walk together, perfectly in line?
Or would I feel you trailing just half a step behind
Would my eyes become your windows?
And you inside, my soul
Or would I feel you standing there
Looking out, yet strangely blind
If I dared to speak would your mouth move with mine?
Would our voices whisper softly?
Or would you trail just half a step behind
I think if you were to stand...
Would your hand move with mine?
Would you cry when I cried?
Would we walk together, perfectly in line?

Tearing Sheep
All or nothing
Brick by brick, please don’t slip
Fingers grasping tighter now
Harsh gasp as the stones cut deep
Look down between your feet
Why do all those people staring look like sheep?
Heads turned up and mouths agape
Silent cheers and little sneers, tearing eyes
Fall, fall there all waiting for it
Another step upwards
You’re on your way, hold tight now don’t forget
This moment there can be no regret
Teeth grit hard as the blood runs down your wrist
It feels good doesn’t...
Brick by brick, please don’t slip
Fingers grasping tighter now
Harsh gasp as the stones cut deep
Look down between your feet
Why do all those people staring look like sheep?
Heads turned up and mouths agape
Silent cheers and little sneers, tearing eyes
Fall, fall there all waiting for it

Monster in my closet
There’s a monster in my closet
Sharp eyes watching
Deep growls follow quickly
The door cracks open a little more
I can hear it, can you?
Its claws tugging at the carpet
Curling deep and holding tight
Nightlight flickers
Damn that 2 watt bulb
Please don’t fail me now
Hiss, crackle... my lights gone out
The door swings wide
I’m all out of places to hide
Quick for the door
Run! Run!
Faster now, heart racing feet pounding
I’m standing in the hall my back against the door
Breathing hard eyes shut tight
But...
