A nature enthusiast, and a connoisseur of art, science, and music. Poetry, as well as music, help me to organize my thoughts, and enable me to express myself in a more constructive and creative fashion.
Cutting Onions
I cling aimlessly
to failure,
like a sailor
to his sinking ship
peeling back
another layer,
of this stinking shit
that coats my core
cutting onions is such a chore
this leaky faucet
needs a fix,
and it's beginning to drip
into every facet
of my life
little ripples rise—
to the surface
of Lake Placid,
growing nervous
into flowing rapids
silly rabbit
just when you thought
this storm was passing,
your stomach's churning
and...

FInding My Way II
perhaps
I'm not as captivating
or charismatic
as the rest,
and when it comes
to communication
I'm not always the best
I've never been
the sharpest dressed
nor the sharpest
of the tacks—
I'm not
the brightest
of the bulbs,
and
I've never had
much tact
I could write
a thousand poems,
but somehow
when it comes to you
I can't seem
to find the words
cat gripping
tightly
at the tip
of my tongue,

Kama Muta
I warm my bones
beside the fire,
reflecting in those
glowing embers
I shiver
blood rushes
like a flowing river,
returning feeling
to starving fingers
darling
let me linger
a little longer
in the
radiance of
your love
shining brightly
as the night
becomes the day
and darkness
melts away,
making way
for lighter shades
smiles of sunrise
tantalized, I lie
beneath her
ripe tangerine skies,
and I'm finding
my way to...

Out Of My Head
If I could ever
meet a deadline,
it would probably
make the headlines
I'm coming unglued—
trying to hold it together
but this cold, winter weather
is biting through to the bone
they say birds of a feather
band together,
but I'm a lone wolf
just stranded in the desert
oh, flocking howl!
I cry fowl
as I throw in the towel;
I'm quitting cold turkey
and I'm starting right now!
psyche
falling deeper and deeper
into an endless spiral

Shipwrecked
I limped away
from the wreckage
of this wretched
battleship
its sails, long failed
from torrential gales
and the weight
of all of it
built on broken hearts
and mangled dreams,
falling apart
at their tangled seams—
now, I know what it means
to hurt
this story is a tragedy
the history of my agony
under a magnifying glass
and I am the ant(agonist)
half-baked,
lying in the grass
beneath the blazing sun,
I'm stuck in the past

The Aficionado
I keep my heart
in my pocket
in a little
brass locket,
with your picture
and a piece
of scripture
engraved
upon my mind
beneath moonbeams
and starshine
hand and hand
we unwind
as we gaze
into each other’s eyes
like honeybees
and butterflies
and I...
take sips of her mind
like the finest wine,
taking my time
to savor
every drop of her flavor
I study her
every movement,
fascinated by her behavior
captivated
by the way her
hips sway...

Tree Hugger
I came across
a gnarled tree
with broken limbs
and wilted leaves
its withered bark,
with scars beneath
reminded me
of me
I had a great epiphany
and in an act
of empathy,
I wrapped my arms
around her trunk
and wept below
her canopy
questioning my sanity
I felt the heart
beneath her bark
living, breathing
into me
and in that moment
I could see
I’m not so different
from the tree
and I found peace
sinking
into silken grass ...

Picturesque
I imagine you,
timidly
sitting there
with a flower
in your hair
patiently
awaiting
my arrival
dressed
to impress

Diffidence
I speak in subtle riddles,
and muddle down the meaning;
deluded, I dilute it
to hide my deepest feelings.
In cowardice, I'm powerless,
bound beneath this magic spell;
idling on the hourglass—
drowning in my wishing well.
Stuck sitting at a red light, redlined,
like a deer caught in the headlights.
I’m an overeager underachiever—
who just can’t get his head right.
But beneath this cowardly lion man,
is a diamond-studded dream weaver,
with a heart filled up with gold
and the soul of a believer.

The Comfort Zone
I keep my deepest emotions
like love and devotion
built up in a bottle
at the bottom
of the ocean
you’re diving deep
and if you dive
a little deeper
you might see
the me
that's
trapped
beneath the surface
and I’m inexplicably nervous
shaking in my boots
my foundation
quaking
beneath my feet,
tugging tightly
at my roots
but I refuse to let loose
I plant myself
firmly
into the dirt,
taking shelter

Gravity
I was floating
in that fleeting moment
feeling weightless
at the sound,
until gravity
got the best of me
and my world
came crashing down
in that fleeting moment
feeling weightless
at the sound,
until gravity
got the best of me
and my world
came crashing down
