In Search for Divine Favour
Dear Diary,
Today, I find myself questioning the beliefs I once held dear. I used to think that being good was all that mattered, that it would bring me divine favor. But now, I see no reward for my goodness. My friendships have crumbled, and my kindness, it seems, has only been used against me.
Growing up, I was always told, "You have no mother or father here, consider them to be your books." So, I studied hard, day and night, believing that prosperity would follow. But now, I ask, where is that job that would provide for my family, that would put food on our...

Echoes of the Unseen
A poem unwritten, like myths and the gods,
Holds power unseen, to the unreading minds.
Hard to believe, in what's not been read,
Like faith in the unseen, it's where we are led.
To me, as a mother, it's the feeling within,
When the unborn kicks, life's hope does begin.
To the father, it's the longing, a bond to be worn,
A connection that blossoms once the child is born.
Like the burnt canary, both lively and burnt,
To the poet, it's the heartbeat where life is bred.
For the reader, it's a love yet to be requited,

Mommy, they're causing me strife,
My wings, they just won't come to life.
They said it's a game we'd be playing,
But now, it's tears that I'm spraying.
Mommy, where can you be?
Mommy, come set me free.
I hear your fearful trill, it's quite a chill,
To the sound of your voice, I'm flying.

Don't give up, the day is not done.

Her Point of View!
Tainted Heartbeat, once so vibrant
Smokey breath, that hovers over
A choked-out plea, in sincere despair
An unending stream of tears, for hope, is now lost.
Stolen innocence, undeserving of such
Heartbreaking grief, for joy now departs.
Intertwined emotions, seeds of desperation
Gut-wrenching decisions, that bear destruction.
A Haunting silence, the mind is set.
Unwilling hands, yet the soul commands
Fading world, for it is done.
A life no more, another burnt canary.

The Colours of my Wings!
I tried to bury them 6 feet under
But a skeleton tries to grasp
A grey satin gown, a subtle shade of grey I see
The colour of infidelity
Hidden in the shadows are ghosts of the present
They follow me with every dimming of the light

Burnt Canary
In the inky nighty veil, blood curdling screams,
Red and black, the colors of death's themes.
Once united, me and you
now torn apart, your fingers,
like claws, rip my heart.
Trusted you, in the light of day,
Now shattered, a million pieces stray.
Fire and smoke, burning flesh's pain,
In ashes, I dwell, in bitter disdain.

From the powdery ashes, rises my call,
