Oh, My Goodness, What A Night
This day, oh my goodness, what a night, my birthday started out with me on perfect vacation, the bliss started out in bed, and let’s say from there, ever other liaison, my stilettos stepped into the entire day, became gold.
My Grann sent me a monthly stipend, however this month, I can retire, well, at least for three days. Then blogging from my recreational room, then after that, everything become a sweeten blur in Atlantic City.

Grateful Steps
Love once knocked upon my door,
Soft and sweet, I craved no more.
Dreams were spun in golden thread,
Promises whispered, hopes widespread.
One taught love—a gentle flame,
A warmth that never stayed the same.
One taught loss—a sudden chill,
A silence echoing, deep and still.
One taught patience, one taught pain,
Each a lesson, not in vain.
Through the sorrow, through the ache,
I found strength I feared would break.
Tears that...

memoire, she looked over my shoulders today and finally smiled
Gilded ram born in 1933
she looks so small
in that huge room
unfurnished
unsolicited
I came into her life
so often silently
I watched her
by the lampshade
how she would shimmer
when apple scented cake
was served
in one corner
of her mouth
some cinnamon glows
I hear our forks scrape
over pastel blue
ceramic plates
each bit is sliced
perfectly
though in lilting
moments
something of ours awakes ...

Cabin Pressure
Snow settles on the roof top
Snuggled in as more snow drops
The pantry filled as wood was chopped
A hound dreams of shiny boots and riding crops
The chase is on for raccoon or fox
A silent cat watches as it's milk is sop
Lapping away at it's milk as the fire hiss and pop
Watching as the sleeping dog whined giving chase nonstop
As the air is warm and smells of hickory
Dreams are being dreamt part fantasy and part memory
Here and there a nightmare sneaks in with care
Forcing bodies to snuggle closer with a need to suddenly...

I'm not sorry
You’re not lost
and I’m not found
in the arms of desire
we’re just repossessed
held in different hands
that smell of overworn t-shirts
and yesterday’s nostalgia
Four hands
breaking the universe
trying to magic a world
that could never be
forgetting we weren't Gods
makIng an impossible universe for two
I'm not sorry for this love
I'm not sorry for all the lies
I'm not sorry for wanting you
I'm not sorry I gave my heart away
I'm not sorry I took it back
I'm not sorry for...

Watching The Fire
Getting it started was so easy
with a will of its own
(the way of nature and things)
We brought the kindling
and thus, we had fire
Keeping it going was no problem
So energetic, we sweated
yet tirelessly fed its hunger
Feeding the flames its constant needs
Because of what it gave us;
Making love in the still of night
and watching the fire
in the reflection of our crystal eyes
~
For all of our toils
we now had a house
to protect our fire
from its very mother ...

The Stillness
In the still of night
She'd take me home
And lay me down
And make sweet love to me
And I recall
Those nights were the best of my life
It seems a thousand years ago
When we were both so happy
With stars in our eyes
And we were over the moon in love
I swear to God that I recall
It was the sweetest time of my life
And we've tried to go back
And reclaim that feeling
But it's never really the same
As when the world was ours alone
Now when the night is still
I wish that I could return to that sweet time
And...

It will kill me...
I have never been wanted.
Not really.
Not in the way that stays when the night gets too quiet,
not in the way that doesn’t leave bruises,
not in the way that doesn’t make me question
if I was ever meant to be here at all.
I have been the almost, the mistake,
the afterthought in a crowded room.
Hands have reached for me,
but only when they needed something to hold,
only when they were searching for warmth
that wasn’t meant for me.
I have been told I was loved.
But love, as I have known it,
has always come with...

The Moon
The stars over looking the moon.
All gliding across the galactic ark.
Sometimes it like a race
Stars & the moon.
In which the moon always wins.
Its that fast.
Appearing in day light.
At dawn and dusk.
Other wise dwarfed by the only.
Star in the sky.
At night millions & millions of stars.
Appear as dots, pinholes against the dark.
The wanders drift about only visible at night.
Jupiter to Romans the greatest of the gods.
Who's Moons once aided navigation at sea.
Venus Roman goddess of love, ...

Mm..The Heart Of A Woman
St. Mark Cathedral Church
The King’s Private Chapel
The Coronation Of Sephora 1701
Following King Javiah’s ceremonial recognition and oath.
King Javiah seated on the Chair of State in the royal box; waited in anticipation for Sephora to make an appearance.
Sephora was nervous as she made her way down the dimly lit corridor. She was getting married, where was her mother, her father? She always dreamed Maxine would be her Maid-of-Honor.
Sephora passed the Seminary. She took a deep breath and walked down the flight of stairs. Her...

750 Pounds of Dirt
These poems
About you
They’re a face in the crowd
Thoughts I allowed
Though you’re dead now
And somehow I live on.
Every poem about you
Ends in dissolution
Revelation
Devastation
And yet I stayed
Until they sealed
Your sea blue eyes
Into a wooden coffin
You looking like a plastic puppet
Just a mask of makeup and lip tint.
And now you lay
Half decayed
Half flesh, but rotting
(that image destroys me)
You’re still a heartbeat
Inside me
Though the bruises have...

If I'd been there..
I hope you know I’m thinking of you,
while you lie in that cold, fluorescent haze,
counting the cracks in the ceiling,
listening to the hum of a world
that keeps moving without you.
I know how it feels.
I know how the walls whisper
like they want to keep you forever.
I know how the silence
can be louder than the screams
that got you there in the first place.
I’ve been there too.
More times than I care to count.
I know the weight of a locked door,
the way time slows down
until it feels like you’re drowning in days...
