Abracadabra

Across a crow littered field
Broomhilda flies on her broom with a black
Cat
Dressed in a black dress and a black satin hat

Elder wand in her left hand
Feeling good feeling
Grand
Hocus Pocus! Alakazam!

In an instant something went wrong
Jasmine and
Katrina said don't worry deary it won't be
Long

Meanwhile
Naomi
Opened the spell book and lit the fire
Page after page she read then stopped
Quietly
Realizing what Broomhilda forgot

So she gathered
The last few ingredients from
Under the cupboard an tossed em in the pot

Veronica the green
Witch appeared, no longer a cat, brought her
Xylophone and started a singalong
Your a Grand old hag
Zeldas favorite song

(I don't care I spell 'Xeno' with a Z, sue me.)

Zeno zeno, bright with fire
Yet these men through forests walk
Xylem latches poor attire
Winding walks and wicked talks
Valarius struck, and Sophacles dead
Until those final days
Transcended, ascended the glorious head
Struck down your inglorious ways
Revile the language I speak to thee hence
Quintuple my earnings adue
Preclude & intrude my mood is so dense
Oh
Now we begin us anew
My word isn't mine, it shine from above
Lambasted for those who are weak for
Keenly we cry, eternal we love
Just as oft' as we mortals are meek
Importune sudden voices
Happenstance calls within
Get thee ready for these choices
Fire burns on tainted skin
Epangelia Helios
Dracu nu poate forca
Can the vision of the Philios
Branded thy mind to the top?
Ah...stop, let us dread
Breaking poets, never dead!
Come and eat eternal bread
Death and hell, they have no stead
Even when he subtle come
Fight! And think! The dark is dumb!
God in Heaven sees you too
Heaven's choirs sing to you
Imagine worlds you've never seen
Just like the one's in books, on screen
Keen! I've never seen anything the
Like! Maybe I'll just hop up and grab the
Mike! I have desire to help the world
Now grab your pen and all your pearls
Omit what trifles vexes girls
Pursue the path of subtle youth
Quazi-hyper-meta-truth
Really, this is simple guys
Strut outside and feed the flies
Travel worldly! Travel far!
Ubiquitous nature shines her star
Vibrations come where oft' they may
When winds and whining die today
Xiphoid tongue will get thee far
You've no idea where the hell we are

THE ORDER OF MANKIND save

A miracle of resilient resolve
Brilliant empire dissolved
Confetti scattering
Diluted in mankind's
Evolving signs
Forever foraging forward
Gaining faith from the
Hoard in haste
In an encouraging entourage of waste
Just in time to gather and bring
Kindly, a new king, and they sing
Loudly and proudly
Men and women scream in release
Now succumbing to a seemingly better belief
Overlords belch out new words in whirls
People imprisoned in new worlds
Quietly accepting until finally deceased as their body
Rests in peace......
Silent forever with nothing left to defend
Tortured and torn before being born
Universally violent until the end
Vicious vocabulary refusing to bend
While degraded into nothing within
X-rated  x-rayed eyes of
Youth evading truth neverending, a
Zenith of a new view impending

+10 or -10, doesn’t make a difference anymore

amlodipine morning bitter dose
begs in jargonizing (plundered) pacifications, though there’s enough
calmness in her bloodstream he oxygenates, his
direly digging
eyes of melancholy never deconstructed to be ever-curious

floats abreast in
gigantic proportions with her
heavenly daily succulence: his punched dreams oozing
in monochromatic devotions sans glaring deviations

just like the sacredly frothing fluidic
kleenme in a ballerina’s slightly shaky elegance to those
lilting tunes filling their co-existed
mercurial expanse,  and then of course
needless to say, his destined absence that's

overly consuming her, that strange distance
plying between their souls zeroes in
quintessential nothingness

regardless of the already
setting-in petrifying hostilities around
their loamy circumference in sought suffering

under a self-imposed quarantine, a rigorously
validating
waiting time marred with paling bouts of
xanthic anxieties in breakdowns to
yeasty upheavals that’s risked for
zygotic-chaos: this l o v e

Congratulations to our winner Shadoe and her frankly epic piece “of owls & oleander ~ {ii}” !!!!!!!

Your poem had everything in it that we wanted to see,  the word choice was original and magnificently imaginative creating a seamlessly flowing poem that was full of wonderful imagery, a breath of fresh air to read and something to return to many many times!!

Runners up were;

Magdalena – Adventurous – This poem is staggeringly good!!

Archetype23  - The Order Of Mankind – Wonderfully thought provoking!

I've had two judges (very accomplished spoken word poets) reading all your wonderful poems over the last week or so and myself and them have been totally blown away by the quality of your writes!!!

Congrats again Shadoe and runners up and thank you so much everyone for taking part and making this competition such a wonderful thing to host!!!!!
