color me beautiful

The trees are an emerald green the most lovely color i have ever seen
The cardinals an imperial red they look like tiny apples on the snow is what my mother's often said
Everything in the world has its own color-it's  own hue
Even me and
Even you
Give to me the deep mahoganies of the Earth
The bright yellows of the sun make me someone
Please God Color Me Beautiful

Mother

Look and you’ll see the pain
Behind the sturdy brow that
Weathers the storms without a flinch
Blank
Colorless
Like bleached bones exposed
To the eroding sands of time
Can you see the despair?
In the deep blue eyes
That slowly grow dimmer by the day
As the life is deliberately bled away
Can you hear the screams?
In the sweet rhythm of the waves
That lash out
To massage an ailing wound that will not heal
Can you see the infestation taking over?
Come to feed on the body
Already weakened by time and abuse
Open your heart and
See the signs all around you
She is dying

Divine mother

A pearl in a dark sea
Cradling all beings
The nurturing orb
That gave us life and
Still sustains every living thing like
A mother embracing
Her children or
An angel from heaven
Holding us
In the palms of her hands

nature

Mother day
Sister evening
Summer showers the morning blossoms
From the minute dawn cracked through the dark

BOUNTY

The onset of Spring finds me
engorged with fresh flowers,
their petals shade my vision.

Turning inwards, I watch the
vines of my fertile thoughts
and feel tremors of fertility

coiling through and
out my ears and navel
and every other breach.

Dislodged savory for the suitors
who still wear their chillblains
of Winter like epaulets,

their thin cracked lips,
taciturn and bleeding for my
suckling breasts of green limes.

Knowingly available, my body
awak'ning with its risen grain that
you seek the tender-most fragrance of,

yearning for the still unripe fruit
that hangs high, and would little and
bitter yield to slake one's thirst.

Symbiotic

She watches from the distance,
From the highest mountains and open seas,
She caresses me with a breeze,
And pours rain down on me.
I see her gorgeous hills,
Have turned green once again,
The peaks are snowcapped,
And her rivers are flowing.

She feeds us, she teaches us,
And still there are many mysteries to her,
There is so much to learn about her,
Like a mother cares for her children.

I pray to her, I thank her,
For the beautiful gifts bestowed upon me.

But I know I’m just as guilty,
As those who have done harm to her,
I’m afraid that one day she’ll grow tired,
Of the broken promises,
We did not keep her sacred,
I’m scared of the consequences,
Of what may rise from the deep.

Still I praise her in all her beauty,
For the life she provides,
Still I raise my prayer in silence,
For one day upon my demise,
I’ll be buried within her,
And then I’ll truly understand.

Forest Pool

Flowing water,
forest pool,
shall I rest here,
or shall I continue on?
Waterfall white,
beckon me to your side:
to lay down by shoals,
rocks glistening wet.
I shall dive the pool,
shed my cover,
and there I will find
your gift for me.
Soft sand, warm sun,
wet water, round stones.
Hold me in your embrace,
share your pleasure with me.
Now I must leave this forest pool,
it has become time to move on.
You were my sanctuary,
but I must journey on.
